How can I shop on internet because I have no shop local to me.
You will find a list of price lists on http://www.princeaugust.ie/moulds/ On each price list the right hand side column has an "add to basket" button. Once you have added the items you would like you should find a "View contents of shopping basket" button at the end of each price list. This should display the items you have selected. Select the currency that you are familiar with and your postage destination and it should calculate the total cost for you. Fill out your name and postal address and press the "send order" button. You should then be asked for the method of payment.

I am thinking of ordering from you and are wondering about shipping costs?
The shopping basket on the web site will calculate postage costs for you. Load up the basket with whatever you like, select your method of postage (Europe, airmail or surface) and it will give you the cost. If you don't want to proceed with the order either press empty basket or "do nothing" for 24 hours and the basket will clear it's self.

If you would prefer to look at a table of weights and calculate your own postage they are available on www.princeaugust.ie/postage

The shopping basket does not work on my computer
We are trying to support all browsers and O/S. Most work, some don't. If you have problems with the shopping cart e-mail your order and we can calculate the order for you and arrange payment. The shopping basket is written in JavaScript and uses "cookies" to store your order both have to be enabled for the shopping basket to work. You could also tell the web master and we may be able to sort the problem out for you.
Norton Firewall issue: It has come to our attention that our shopping basket form will give a LEDFORMMAIL error if you have Norton firewall on when processing the order. Please turn it off while ordering or the order will not reach us. Norton prevents the order from being sent to our secure php processing script. This may not be isolated to Norton but the principles are the same. We are sorry about this issue.

What is your exact address, your address on the site has no street number or postal code
Our full address (Yes we have no street number or postal code) is:-

Prince August,
Kilnamartyra,
Macroom,
Co. Cork,
Ireland

Kilnamartyra has no street numbers and only one street, Ireland has no post code/zip code system.

I am interested in buying moulds, but need details of what materials to use, and instructions how to use.
You can see instructions on how to use our moulds on http://www.princeaugust.ie/steps/
On the Metals that you can use in our moulds on http://www.princeaugust.ie/alloys/
And on our metals http://www.princeaugust.ie/meta/l

I am inquiring about the lead content of your casting metal. Is this alloy lead free or should I take all the necessary precautions when dealing with lead?
Our Model Metal and Standard Metal contain significant proportions of lead. You should take some precautions when handling it. Do wash your hands after handling unpainted miniatures. Don't smoke when handling lead or chew the figures etc.

Our 5 Star metal is lead free. If you require a safer metal to handle this is a good option. It needs to be melted at a higher temperature to cast well but it is lighter and stronger than the lead alternative.

Can you tell me how to join together arms to body of soldiers.
We recommend using slow epoxy resin. The 5 minute epoxy is not as strong as the slower adhesive and does not give much time to assemble the figure. To use epoxy resin clean out & roughen the socket and the peg on the arm apply glue and hold in place using rubber bands etc. Fill up any gaps left over with filler. You can also use super glue (cyanoacrylate) but this is not as strong. It is also possible to solder the figures together; this requires a temperature controlled soldering iron and lots of skill.

I would like moulds for the Celtic Legend Chess set
The Celtic Legend is only available Hand Painted finish. Most of the other chess sets are available as moulds.

Interested in producing my own molds for casting.
Did you see www.mithril.ie , The left text navigation menu has a link at the very end to how to make Master moulds

Could the molds handle casting resins or perhaps casting epoxies, like kneadtite?
We have tried several and found them not heavy enough or liquid enough to flow into the detail.

Could you send me the painting instructions for the following chess sets?

Sorry we have no painting instructions. I have wanted to write instructions for this set soon after I joined the company. One day - hopefully soon.....

Can you tell me about the Model Metal? I have used the Standard Metal, can you tell me about Model Metal and are the results much better?
Model Metal contains bismuth, which has the property of expanding when cooling. This improves the 'fill' of a mould and increases the detail. Unfortunately bismuth is quite expensive which accounts for the difference in price.

Do you have any World War 1 or World War 2 figures or moulds.
We no longer stock Dunken Company licensed WW2 action figure moulds. They are available via Dunken.com however. Otherwise the nearest figures that we have are 1958 Swedish troops

Where can I find a conversion table that tells me what the Euro is equal to in US currency?
Try the shopping basket on the web site. Our shopping basket can convert into US Dollars. The shopping basket uses a fixed rate as an estimate of the conversion rate. The actual conversion is done by your credit card (Master Card, Visa etc) at the market rate at the time of your order, your order debited from your card using the Euro price. Our rate on the shopping basket is not as good as your card will give you but at least no one complains when they are charged less than they expected! It also works out the postage cost for you. If you don't press the 'send order' button we will never know that you filled your basket and did not purchase from us.

Do you stock any Lord of the Rings casting moulds?
No we don't do moulds for the Middle-earth figures. Would love to do it but our licence does not permit it. You can see our range of figures on www.mithril.ie, however if you look at http://www.princeaugust.ie/faclassics and think of diferent colours for the wizards, wraiths, elves etc. - with a bit of adaption you may create what you want. Also we have a new range of 32mm 'Supreme Casting' Fantasy moulds out now.

What is the different between Model Metal, Standard Metal and 5 Star Metal
Model metal is the easiest to cast with. Standard metal is the cheapest. 5 Star metal is best if people are going to handle your miniatures unpainted.

Is the life of a mould solely determined by the number of castings taken from it.
The life of mould is more determined by how you look after it. Warm the mould slightly before casting, have the metal at the correct temperature. Release the figure carefully. Even with rough treatment we think that a mould should make 500 castings. With careful treatment a mould should last a lifetime.

I'd like to know if moulds n.907, 908 and 909 are available?
These moulds have never been produced. The series goes from 906 to 910 with no figures in between. Long ago we had plans to produce figures for these numbers that have now been forgotten.

When I cut the metal off the base of some of the molds I cannot get all the waste off and therefore the mold will not sit right.
Use a flat file to take the extra that can not be clipped off or sawn off. Quite a course one would be better than a very fine one. If you can't get a flat file, use emery paper.

May I sell the figures that I produce from your moulds?
PRINCE AUGUST HOBBY CASTING MOULDS HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE TO THE HOBBIEST SINCE 1958 AND HAVE PROVIDED ENDLESS YEARS OF ENTERTAINMENT TO OUR MANY COLLECTORS WORLD WIDE. NOW DUE TO MANY REQUESTS WE HAVE AGREED TO PROVIDE A LICENSE AGREEMENT TO SMALL COLLECTORS WHO WISH TO SELL ON THEIR CAST ITEMS. If you advertise your figures for sale, for example on a web site, we also ask you to include our web site address or a link to our site. A reward may be offered to any person who advises us of unlicensed sale of our figures produced from the mould kits, (subject to a successful investigation or prosecution by Prince August). Any figures (which include many of the chess sets) which appear in the Edman Collection should not be reproduced for sale. All copyrights are reserved by An Groupa Edman Teo, Kilnamartyra, Macroom, Co.Cork Ireland.

Is it possible to duplicate a miniature from an already existing range, say a Games Workshop figure?
It is very easy (for us) to copy existing figures like Games workshops but it is illegal, so we don't do it. We have a description of how to make moulds yourself on http://www.mithril.ie/

How do you go about making a "Master" figure in the first place?
You can make a master figure out of many things like wood and metal. Carving and filing are the main ways of shaping the figures. Many people start with an existing figure such as one out of one of our moulds and then adapt it by adding things using modelling putty (such as Miliput) and filing off the bits they don't want.

The order form on the shopping basket is not secure.
This is due to the fact that it has to communicate with the rest of the site. Once you have filled out the shopping basket and press the send order button you are taken to a secure page to enter your credit card number or choose paypal as a payment option. You can see that it is secure with the https:// in the address and the yellow padlock 'locked' symbol on your browser (MS. I.E) lower right edge.
