| What is
the Metal Stirrer? The smallest thing makes the biggest difference.
That is how one can describe this item. This little wooden will allow
you to safely test the temperature of the metal. Just dip it in the
metal for 7 seconds, take it out. If it smoking lightly, the temperature
is right and you will have a perfect casting. Furthermore you can use
the stirrer, to stir the metal and move the dross to one side. No more
dross will go into your casting. Try it! It is fabulous and free. |

| Model metal (54% Lead / 11% Tin / 35% Bismuth) is the easiest to cast with it contains a large amount of lead, making it heavy and bismuth to improve the amount of fill. Standard metal (65% Lead / 2% Antimony / 33% Tin) is the cheapest like model metal this is a tin/lead alloy but uses antimony as a flow improver. 5 Star metal (94.5% Tin / 3% Zinc / 2.5% Antimony) is best if people are going to handle your miniatures unpainted this is mainly an alloy of tin and zinc. Model metal melts at 138°C (280°F), while Standard metal melts at 210°C (410°F) and the Five star metal melts at 230° C (446° F) |
