The american band of the allied expeditionary forces (Europe 1944)
conducted by Cpt. Glenn Miller. Their music was a really a
"wonder-weapon" against the Germans and is still admired in Germany
today. Get yourself "in the mood" and throw on a fourties-jazz cd. The figures are Prince August moulds exept the singer. The sitting musicians are animated heyde-copies, (the lady is a conversion of an empire-princess luise) the mike is solderd together from wire. The other instruments (bass, guitar, piano) are scratched out of hard-foam-pvc and moulded in silicone-rubber. the piano is a mould with 3 parts because of the weight like hollow-casts. The drum set is solderd together from different drums, wire and sheetmetal. the biggest problem was painting the pair of glasses of the bandleader and the writing on the drum-set. Next time I will try out to paint the musicians with visible skirt and tie at the neck so they will not look so stiff. |
